Janice Halsted grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey, and came to Milford in 1977. She has been the Innkeeper at the Laurel Villa for the past 14 years. She will be there to greet you when you arrive, and you may find her any evening behind the bar, or serving you at your table. Gardening is one of Janice's passions, and she is responsible for the many beautiful plantings you will discover on the grounds of the Laurel villa.

Carl Muhlhauser grew up in Milford. Because the Laurel Villa has been in his family since before he was born, Carl has worked in every area of the Inn over the last forty years. After five years service in the Army, Carl attended and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. His years of experience in many of New York's finest restaurants, have brought him a wealth of culinary knowledge, which he shares nightly with his guests.

PS...Oh, in case you were wondering, Carl and Janice have been happily married for 14 years. They are the proud parents of four German Shorthair Pointers -- C.J., Lucky, Princess, and Belle -- and they have lots of dog breeding stories to tell and swap!
