The Laurel Villa was built as an Inn in 1876, and has been operated as an Inn continuously since then.  

In the early part of this century, Milford boasted over 30 resort hotels and Inns. The Laurel Villa is one of the few remaining, and is now the second oldest Inn in Milford, Pennsylvania. It has been owned by one family, longer than any other Inn within the Milford area.

Along the way it has served as a stagecoach stop, as the summer home of the Ensemble Studio Theatre, and as a residence for many visiting soap opera stars performing at the Milford Theatre.

The Laurel Villa has been in the Muhlhauser family since 1945.
